Designed for Joydeb Saha in Gangarampur, this 2,200 sq.ft. residence gives a compact urban plot a confident contemporary identity. Currently under construction, the house is organised as a two-storey home with a usable roof terrace, with the façade treated as a composition of layered volumes rather than a flat front.
At the centre, a full-height glazed stair core with a patterned black screen is framed by terracotta-toned horizontal cladding, forming the vertical spine of the elevation. On either side, grey cantilevered balconies with glass railings and a deep black steel pergola over the first-floor terrace create depth, shade and strong shadow lines.
At ground level, a cantilevered car porch with a sculpted LED ceiling, a fin-screened sit-out and a timber-finish main door make for a welcoming arrival. Terraces and pergolas on each level bring outdoor living into the design, suited to the warm local climate.
